Pathfinders is a worldwide organization of young people. We can be compared to Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts because we do many of the same types of things..
First of all, our club members are both boys and girls; however, they are subdivided into units of all boys or all girls. Secondly, we are a Christian organization, though young people of any religious persuasion, or none at all, are welcome and encouraged to join the organization. Being a Christian organization means that the adults involved in Pathfinders are Christians. They will uphold Christian values in their own lives as they deal with your children. It also means that we begin each meeting with a worship.
We are a patriotic organization. We also begin each meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. We also teach about the proper way to take care of, display, and put away the American Flag. And the history behind the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem.
What we do?
We teach classes in a variety of recreational, artistic, nature, conservation, vocational, and outreach areas, with award patches (honors) given for successful completion of the classes.
We have a variety of activities including campouts; community outreach activities (collecting food for the disadvantaged, cleaning city streets and/or parks; visiting and encouraging the elderly; and many more). A few years ago we painted a house for a person who was unable to do it or pay for it himself.
